I recommend both husband wife file for yourselves and for each other. So between the two , there will be four 485 applications. One: Wife as primary, husband as derivative. Second, husband as primary and wife as derivative. We do this all the time and this is the safest thing to do. You will keep whichever 485 set gets approved, first, the other will be rejected by CIS.

Does anyone know if vonage can be used as a phone card. Say if you want to make an international call from your cellphone using vonage account.
I dont think they have the calling facility with the reference to vonage account.....I have chatted with customer rep and he confirms me the same....this was few days back...not sure now...if any body has new info, update here.......

Krish I believe that Feb - Apr 2007 is very realistic now although we don't have all the details of the news yet. 12K numbers if applied in May will lead to 4-5 months of movement not just a wekl. I do echo VDLRAO's wish there is a good chance that we maybe near the Jul-Aug 2007 line however we should wait for the May bulletin to assess that.

I checked with USCIS by calling them and they still have no records for me in the system. They admitted that there are many who have not been entered and issued receipts even though the dates at NSC & TSC shows otherwise.
Adviced to be patient and call back in October 1st week. According to them its still not long enough for them to launch an inquiry to find these July 2nd applications.
My lawyer also says she can't do anything yet unless they say that they have filed everything they have received.
Again what a mess ...waiting for reciepts takes so long wonder when they will finally process the GC.
I know many 2nd July filers who have even received EADs.
I hope our patience pays off and they rewsrd it with giving the GC straightaway;).....wishful thinking.....

Allowing to file on July 02 or July 03 depends on visa numbers available which in turn depends usage the preceding month. If all the numbers are used up (meaning Immigration Officers have requested visas from DOS in the process of approving pending I-485) they cannot allow anyone to file on July 02 or July 03 and so on.
I guess currently race is on from USCIS to consume Visa numbers (40,000 or so) from DOS at unprecedented pace. That's why bulletin hasn't changed as yet. USCIS on its part is possibly trying to avoid flood of application at all cost, even if it requires working extra hours (and approving as many cases as possible) if it can save them later. DOS will NOT move the date back until the numbers are used up or near used up. I guess race is on....we will know on Monday. One way to know how true this is will be watching I-485 approvals from now till Monday. We are caught in the tug of war between USCIS and DOS. CIRCus isn't over yesterday....it is back in town again !!!

we are giving USCIS options on how to deal with the campaign.
If they really do forward the flowers they need to think about seperating notes from flowers.
What will happen is - they will pluck the notes from the baskets and then forward the flower baskets as a batch to the vets. I am sure someone at USCIS is going to read the notes.

This is good but the numbers are very less to do anything in the bigger picture(EB2+EB3 pending). Atleast something is better than nothing.
Hope this doesn't lead to laxing on the advocacy day agenda or less efforts from EB2 people on the verge. EB3 people stuck wtih pre -perm labor, no substitution should also be helped, and way to do it , recapture of unused numbers, hold on diversity lottery. Going through advocacy efforts. A united effort has a higher chance.
It may not have any impact on EB3 this year...but once the EB2 is cleared it will have an impact on EB3; may be in a year or two.

It really is amazing how much hot air has been generated on this thread over a well established transit visa requirement.
The reason transit visas are required in the UK is that many passengers with an intention to transit the UK have stayed. The transit visa was introduced as a way of making sure (as much as possible) that the passenger has the intention and the ability to transit the UK and to enter a third country.
The list of nationals that are required to have a visa to transit the UK represents a list of countries where there has been a particular problem with over stayers. It is not race based, but merely an effort to target the problem.
It really does not matter what anyone thinks about the transit visa requirement because it is UK law. Everyone has a choice whether or not to transit the UK. Going back to the original post, to book a ticket without researching visa requirements and then trying to deflect personal responsibility by blaming the visa requirement is ridiculous.
If one doesn't like transit policy of a country, just avoid that transit point, rather than putting curse on that country ( or try changing the policy of that country through democratic means, if one can ).

You want to foreclose for a matter of 20K -- I'm really surprised by your thinking process. Based on it, I would assume you had a zero down loan.
In my opinion and this is my opinion only ( and this is only from a financial perspective only ), taking a hit on your credit report for 7 years for a 20k monetary hit doesnt make sense.
the moral , ethical part of it -- well there are quite a few folks on either side of it and I'll let them continue arguing for/against it :-)
